Nathan Heigert attended college at Washington University in St. Louis and studied illustration and graphic design at the Sam Fox College of Art.
In October of 2008, he moved to San Francisco, working in a freelance capacity for creative studios such as Mekanism, Telltale Games, Beyond, and Kinesis Studios.
The first portions of the graphic novel Shade were released in May 2008. New pages will were uploaded as it progressed.
The first six chapters were compiled as Shade: Part One and debuted at the Alternative Press Expo in San Francisco in 2010. Chapter Seven debuted at APE in 2011.
